Early Life and Family

Shevchenko’s mother Elena is a former multiple-time Muay Thai champion. Her father Anatoly served three years during the cold war and played for the Kyrgyzstan national football team.

Valentina’s older sister Antonina also competes in UFC. Valentina and Antonina made UFC history by becoming the first pair of sisters to feature on the same fight card at UFC 255.

Valentina Shevchenko trained in Muay Thai and kickboxing at an early age. At the age of 12, she knocked out a 22-year-old opponent in kickboxing, earning her the nickname “Bullet”.

One of the best female Muay Thai in the world, Shevchenko won 8 gold medals in the World Championships from 2003-2014, 2 representing Kyrgyzstan, 1 for Russia, and 5 for Peru.
