Rob Van Dam says he is open to wrestling in WWE again, but he does not like the idea of a retirement tour. The WWE Hall of Famer gave his thoughts in a recent interview and spoke about his return to the ring after a serious injury.
Open to WWE, but keeping options simple
Van Dam said he is willing to consider any offer to appear in WWE. He kept his answer short and clear: he will listen to offers and is not shutting the door on a return.
“I am open to consider anything. That’s part of being open-minded. You know, I try not to shut anything out without at least considering it,” he said. He also added that WWE has his contact information and can reach out to him. He noted he will be appearing at WWE World.
He does not want a retirement tour
Van Dam pushed back on the idea of a planned farewell run like some stars have done. He said he does not want to label a run as a “retirement tour.” He prefers not to know when his last match will be.
“But as far as a retirement tour, like, unless I change my perspective — which always happens, you’re always looking at everything from a different place in life if you keep going — but the way I feel now is like, I don’t like the idea of labeling something retirement. Or I don’t really want to know if I’m having my last match when I am,” he said.
His comments come as other big names in wrestling have announced farewell tours. Van Dam made clear he wants to keep his options open and not rush a final goodbye.
Back in the ring after injury
Van Dam returned to active wrestling after a long layoff caused by serious injuries. He had broken both his heels and spent time recovering. He made his in-ring comeback recently at a Battle Championship Wrestling event in Australia.
At that show he main-evented and picked up a win over Australia’s Mick Moretti. It was his first big match since healing, and the result gave him momentum as he considers his next steps.

Van Dam last wrestled on WWE programming in 2014. He remains a popular figure with fans and a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. For now, he says he is open to talks but does not want to frame any future run as a farewell tour.
