Willie Mack, a veteran wrestler signed to both AEW and Ring of Honor, has publicly voiced frustration about his lack of matches and limited booking under company owner Tony Khan.
What Willie Mack said
Mack took to X late Tuesday to complain that he is not getting enough work. In one post he wrote, “When ya boy is about to become a homeless superhero because the booker doesn’t think he’s worth the money,” and used the hashtag #WhereTheBestWrestle.
He followed that up with another post saying he has tried for two years to get more matches. “It’s like for 2 years straight I’d call every week and ask if you got anything for me? ‘You signed right? You still getting paid right?’ I want to wrestle,” he wrote.
AEW and ROH work history
Mack first began appearing for AEW and Ring of Honor in 2023. Since then, his work for both companies has been sporadic. He had only six matches across AEW and ROH in 2025 and has not worked for either promotion so far in 2026.
Work has been limited enough that fans sometimes wondered whether he was still signed. That status was clarified in late 2024 when he was pulled from GCW bookings during a dispute between AEW and GCW, which confirmed he was under a deal with AEW/ROH at that time.
Career background and current activity
The 39-year-old Mack has a long career in many promotions. He has wrestled for AAA, MLW, NWA, and TNA. He is best known to many fans as The Mack from Lucha Underground, where he worked across all four seasons of the show.
When not appearing for AEW or ROH, Mack has kept busy on the independent scene. He competes regularly for Juggalo Championship Wrestling and is currently one half of the JCW Tag Team Champions.
Context and next steps
AEW and WWE have both expanded their rosters in recent years. With more wrestlers signed than there is time on TV, some talent has begun to see fewer bookings. Mack’s public posts reflect that frustration and his desire to wrestle more often.
He has said he wants more chances in AEW and ROH. There is no announced change to his schedule now, and no new matches for AEW or ROH have been reported for him so far in 2026.
