At WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas, three rising stars from WWE NXT — Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks — stole the show in a triple threat for the women’s title. The match helped mark a new era for the women’s division.
The Match at AT&T Stadium
The triple threat took place on the WrestleMania 32 card at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Charlotte Flair entered as the Divas Champion and defended against fellow Four Horsewomen members Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. All three were making their first WrestleMania appearances.
The match ran just over 16 minutes and moved at a fast pace. The three wrestlers worked both inside and outside the ring and used a mix of high-flying moves, strikes and submission holds. For much of the bout they focused on isolating one opponent to gain the upper hand.
Key Moments and the Finish
Early on, Charlotte and Lynch traded offense while Banks waited for openings. At one point Charlotte sent Banks into the ring apron, then later hit a moonsault to the outside that took out both challengers. The match featured several signature moves: Lynch’s Dis-Arm-Her and Becksploder, Banks’ Bank Statement and dives, and Flair’s figure-four attempts and Natural Selection.
Ric Flair sat at ringside and played a role in the finish. Banks had been kept out of the ring late in the match. Charlotte broke up a Bank Statement on Lynch, then locked in the figure eight while Ric prevented Banks from getting back in. Lynch tapped, making Charlotte the winner and marking the night when the Divas title was replaced by the new WWE Women’s Championship.
Aftermath and Legacy
The match helped push the women’s revolution forward on WWE’s main roster. The next night on Raw Charlotte was formally presented with the new WWE Women’s Championship. She then entered a feud with veteran Natalya and defended the title multiple times.
Sasha Banks and Charlotte later had a singles program that ended with Banks beating Flair on Raw to win main roster gold after Banks had earlier made Flair submit during a tag match at Battleground. All three women went on to win championships and build major careers in WWE.

The women’s triple threat was one of the highest-rated matches on the WrestleMania 32 card. Dave Meltzer gave it four stars. Fans have also rated the match highly in online polls.
