AJ Styles says he is finding his feet after retiring from in-ring wrestling. He is staying busy by training young talent, scouting new wrestlers, and helping his son learn the sport.
Adjusting to retirement
Styles told fans on his “Phenomenally Retro” YouTube channel that retirement feels different from what he expected. He joked that he is still working out what his new job should be and how to do it well. “Trying to figure this whole retirement — not retired thing,” he said. He added that the small details of his day-to-day work are what he is still figuring out.
Training and scouting new talent
Since stepping away from regular matches, Styles has been active behind the scenes. He has been training WWE’s young stars and has also worked with athletes coming in under NIL arrangements. He said much of his time now is split between scouting new wrestlers and teaching them skills in the ring.

Coaching his son and staying fit
One of Styles’ main projects is training his son, who wants to follow his father into professional wrestling. Styles said he has been spending time in the ring with his son, teaching him moves and preparing him for a future in the sport.
He also joked about the simple challenge of staying in shape now that he is not competing. “The toughest problem is not getting fat,” he said, showing his lighter side as he adjusts to life away from regular matches.
Hall of Fame and future plans
AJ Styles will not be out of the spotlight for long. He is set to be inducted into the 2026 Hall of Fame. He will be honored alongside several other inductees, including Stephanie McMahon, Dennis Rodman, the tag team Demolition, and Sid Eudy, also known as Sycho Sid.
Styles told fans he plans to keep his Hall of Fame speech short and sweet. He may not be wrestling full time, but he still wants to do a good job in the roles he has taken on. For now, that means coaching, scouting, and helping the next generation of wrestlers grow.
