WWE has boosted ticket sales for WrestleMania 42, but numbers still trail last year. Reporter Dave Meltzer shared new figures showing progress after recent discounts, while WWE aims to fill Allegiant Stadium for the two-night show in Las Vegas.
Ticket sales update
WrestleMania 42 is set for a two-night run at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Earlier reports showed ticket sales were down about 18% compared to WrestleMania 41. After a recent round of discounts, ticket counts rose to 39,866 for night one and 41,330 for night two. That still leaves sales about 13.3% behind last year’s totals.
Discounts and promotions
WWE ran several sales to boost interest. For “Austin 3:16 Day,” tickets were 31.6% off. The most recent sale cut prices by 25% for both WrestleMania nights, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony that comes before the show, and the two main TV shows that week: Raw and SmackDown.
Other WrestleMania week events
Sales for other events tied to WrestleMania week remain modest. SmackDown has sold 5,810 tickets so far, while Raw has moved 7,305 seats. The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony has sold 2,183 tickets and will be held in a smaller venue, not the stadium.
Market view and outlook
On the secondary market, the current “get-in” price is about $205 for night one and $211 for night two. Those prices are roughly 23.8% lower than they were at the same time last year. Despite the gap to last year’s numbers and both nights being far from sold out now, Meltzer expressed confidence WWE will sell over 50,000 tickets for each night by the time WrestleMania 42 arrives.
WWE’s strategy of timed discounts appears to be helping, but it has not closed the gap to WrestleMania 41 yet. With WrestleMania still months away, more ticket moves, promotions, or package sales could change the final totals. For now, the promotion is pushing to turn the current interest into full stadium crowds for both Saturday and Sunday nights.
