Former TNA star Gail Kim will take part in mediation next month as a lawsuit from TNA’s parent company moves toward arbitration.
Case moves to mediation and arbitration
The company that owns TNA filed a lawsuit against Gail Kim in early February. The suit says Kim violated the Florida Private Whistleblower Act. A recent report says the case is now set for arbitration.
Both sides will meet for mediation on Wednesday, June 24, at the Nashville Chancery Court. Kim has been given extra time to answer the lawsuit. Her deadline to respond will be extended until after the mediation session.
What the company says
The company argues the dispute should be governed by Tennessee law, not the Florida whistleblower law. It says Kim was listed as an independent contractor while she worked there. As an independent contractor, the company says, she was not eligible for pension, profit sharing, medical or dental benefits, worker’s compensation, life insurance, vacation, or sick leave.
The complaint describes Kim’s duties as helping with talent relations, overseeing match production, and performing in the ring. The company is asking the court to recognize those terms and to apply Tennessee law to the case.
Kim’s role and recent history
Gail Kim is a seven-time Knockouts Champion and a TNA Hall of Famer. The company released her from her role in March 2025. The release came during a company restructuring that aimed to save money and change creative direction. That change happened about two months after a new working relationship began between TNA and another major wrestling organization.
The lawsuit and the move to arbitration are the latest developments in a dispute that started publicly in February. Both sides will now try to resolve their issues in mediation before the matter continues in arbitration.
What to expect next
After mediation on June 24, the parties could reach a settlement or move forward with arbitration. If they settle, the case may end quietly. If they do not, the matter will proceed in arbitration, where a neutral arbitrator will hear the dispute and issue a decision.
For now, the mediation date is the key next step. Both sides will use that meeting to try to resolve the dispute without a full arbitration hearing.
