Jim Miller says he will finish his UFC career in 2027 after a first-round submission win at UFC 328 in New Jersey.
Big win at UFC 328
Veteran lightweight Jim Miller, 42, picked up a first-round submission victory over Jared Gordon at UFC 328 this past weekend in New Jersey. The win came by submission early in the fight and added another finish to Miller’s long UFC career.
Retirement plan
After the fight, Miller spoke about when he plans to stop fighting. He said he will take one more fight this year and then aim to finish a few fights in 2027 before retiring. In his post-fight interview he said, “Another one this year, and then I can bang up those next few in 2027 and be done, hang them up, leave the gloves in there.”
Miller added that he is looking forward to the moment and does not want anything to take that chance away from him.
Career marks and recent form
Miller already holds the UFC record for the most fights in the promotion with 47 bouts. His win over Jared Gordon moved him to 28 UFC wins, the most in UFC history. He also sits second only to Charles Oliveira for the most finishes in UFC history with 20 finishes.
Despite his age, Miller has stayed competitive. He has won three of his last five fights. His other recent wins were submissions over Gabriel Benitez and Damon Jackson.
