Darren Till says he no longer watches the UFC and fired off sharp criticism of Dana White and the state of the promotion during an interview with Ariel Helwani.
Till’s message to Dana White
On The Ariel Helwani Show, Till said Dana White’s ego is getting out of control. He told Helwani he stopped watching UFC shows because the cards do not excite him anymore. Till said he could not name half the fighters on current cards and that the events lack the same weight they once had.
Till also attacked how White handles press scrums. He complained that when reporters ask questions, White often replies with “who gives a sh*t,” which Till called disrespectful to fans and fighters. Till said reporters seem afraid to press harder and that fans deserve real answers.
How the cards have changed
Till compared today’s shows to big fights from the past. He pointed to co-main events like Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald and Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo as fights that felt important. He said current cards do not feel the same and used a blunt phrase to describe them: “a load of can of piss.”
He believes the UFC has only a few true stars left. That view came with frustration about how some fighters get promoted while others do not.
On Arman Tsarukyan and selective treatment
Till called out the UFC for what he sees as inconsistent treatment of fighters. He named Arman Tsarukyan as an example of someone who should be built up as a headliner. Till noted Tsarukyan’s aggressive moments, saying they bring attention and sell fights. He questioned why fighters who act wildly in the past, like Jon Jones and Conor McGregor, did not get the same pushback.
Till suggested there may be personal issues or a double standard at play. He urged the promotion to give stars more chances to grow and to stop letting ego shape how questions and fighters are treated.
BKFC debut and what’s next
Till will leave the UFC scene behind and make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut at BKFC 90 in Birmingham on May 30. He is set to fight Aaron Chalmers.
Till said fighting in BKFC is better for him than watching a UFC card he no longer recognizes. The change marks a new chapter for the Liverpool fighter, who was once a UFC welterweight title challenger.
