Paddy Pimblett spoke harshly about Mateusz Gamrot after watching UFC 327, where Gamrot earned a win. Pimblett questioned Gamrot’s appeal and suggested what the Polish fighter should do next.
What Pimblett Said
Pimblett posted a reaction video on YouTube after UFC 327. He said he did not even know Gamrot was fighting and was surprised a top-ten fighter was on the prelims. Pimblett said people do not seem to care about Gamrot and called his fighting style boring.
He said, in effect, that Gamrot lacks marketability and questioned why he fought so early on the card. Pimblett also offered advice on who Gamrot should call out next to move up the title ladder.
Gamrot’s Win at UFC 327
Mateusz Gamrot picked up a win at UFC 327 with a third-round submission over Esteban Ribovics. Despite the victory, Pimblett used the moment to say Gamrot is not a big draw and should fight higher on the card.
Pimblett pointed out that Gamrot is ranked No. 8 in the lightweight division, yet he was placed on the prelims. Pimblett said that placement shows a lack of interest from fans.
Advice and Matchup Ideas
After praising Gamrot’s win on the mat, Pimblett suggested Gamrot should call out Arman Tsarukyan. Pimblett noted that Gamrot already holds a win over Tsarukyan and said a call-out could lead Gamrot straight to a top contender spot.
He also named Dan Hooker as another reasonable next opponent. Pimblett framed these options as quick ways for Gamrot to climb the rankings and get closer to a title shot.
Pimblett’s Own Status
Pimblett has not fought since suffering his first UFC loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 324 in January. Reports say he and UFC president Dana White have agreed on a return date at UFC London. There are also plans for Pimblett to face a top contender at UFC 329 in Las Vegas on July 11.
